The first two collaborations

Hi there,

I hope you are having a great week so far. Thank you for the kind words in response to my email last week—that means a great deal! I appreciate those who took the time to send support and love.

As I mentioned last week, this week, I am happy to give an update on a couple of collaborations.

The first is with select Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), specifically a few houses in upstate New York. This is not an official part of the broader RMHC, but a select pilot group to begin. This program is focused on NICU families—families who are often navigating one of the hardest and most disorienting chapters of their lives. They’re away from home. Their newborn is in the hospital. They’re trying to make sense of a complex care plan, deal with insurance, stay connected to other kids back home—and somehow, stay upright.

ShadowNurses are stepping in to help them hold it all together. This is very serendipitous to me — I went to RIT in Rochester, NY and grew up in Upstate NY. One of the house leaders also attended RIT and became a nurse. This type of connection can’t be ignored and we are grateful for the opportunity.

We’ll be working directly with these families to test what our support looks like in real time. Not theory—practice at our largest scale yet. Our focus here is on learning. Learning what works, where we need tighter systems, and how to provide the best, highest quality support we can. Our goal is to work with up to 150 families over the next few months. This type of credible collaboration is huge for ShadowNurse, and furthers our momentum to getting more 1099 roles for nurses. The more people we have out there that are wanting our service, the more nurses we will need. Remember, our vision is to put a ShadowNurse in every family across the US.

The second collaboration is one I never expected, but see a real fit: FEMA.

The number of declared national disaster areas is increasing in the US, which means there is a growing number of affected victims who are displaced, financially drained, and suffering from exacerbated health problems. Through our persistence, ShadowNurse is now authorized to have our information distributed to victims by FEMA agents on the ground. It’s a simple flier with a QR code that connects families to a nurse via text. That’s it. We’ve had our first families reach out.

These high-impact high-visibility collaborations with reputable healthcare entities are both exciting and extremely validating. They’re about alignment and getting our service fully locked in. And about meeting people in moments when they need help the most, and showing them what it looks like when a nurse is on your side.

They’re also about building something sustainable. If we get this right, we open the door to repeatable, scalable, compensated nurse-led care. That’s the whole point. Real revenue, driven by real value, delivered by us, to as many people as we can support.

Next week, I’ll share more about what we’re doing with Medicare—and I’ll have a specific, very critical ask for this community. If you’re caring for an aging parent or grandparent, or if you’ve ever navigated the Medicare maze with a patient or family, I hope you’ll read.

Until then, thank you for being here. Your presence—your attention—makes this real.

P.S. The more nurses who know about this, the more potential patients and families we can reach. A quick follow, like, or share on LinkedIn goes a long way. You don’t need to be loud to be part of the movement—we’re building this together, one steady week at a time.
